Ipad or Iphone Large Edition?

So yesterday, everyone was excited for Apple's first big keynote of 2010. Everyone at my school was waiting for the updates on all the new Apple products and the highly anticipated Apple tablet. I had been checking up on the leaked information and speculation for this new product and I was excited.

We went on the internet after the keynote was over and we were all thinking the same thing....is that it? After all the anticipation and hype, the whole keynote was about the Ipad. No updates on the macbook, iphone, ipod, etc. Just the Ipad. And on top of that. The Ipad did not look impressive at all, in fact I think that it looked really bad. Everyone at my school, from the students to the teachers, were saying "Whats the big deal?".

Apple is known for having sleek, elegant looking products that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are technologically sound. the new Ipad looks like a giant Iphone. The screen is 9.7 inches, and is more square than the Iphone, giving the Ipad a boxy look. The home page and full OS of the Ipad is almost identical to the Iphone. The Ipad even runs the same apps and games that the Iphone does. The Ipad also has a book shelve feature which works like the Sony Kindle. It features a multi-touch screen and full wifi. People have to pay for the 3g wifi coverage, much like in an Iphone. Prices for the Ipad range from $499 to $699.

The Ipad is just a bigger, more powerful Iphone that cant make calls. I mean there are tons of better options if you are looking to buy a tablet PC. However this is only based on the keynote and the specs that I have seen. Once I fully use an Ipad, I will come back with my final conclusion.
