All Time NBA Team

I decided to make my All Time NBA Team. The team is a starting five, with one bench player. Feel free to comment on my selections, or even create your own All time NBA Team.

PG Earvin "Magic" Johnson Jr. 6'9" 255lbs.

Magic won 5 NBA Championships, 3 NBA MVP Awards, 12 All Star selections, 3 Finals MVP Awards, and 9 All NBA First Teams. Hes the size of a forward, but one of the greatest passers of all time. His rookie season, he played all 5 positions in one NBA Finals Game, and won the Finals MVP Award. He lead the legendary Showtime Lakers. There are so many great moments, the battles with Larry Bird, the baby sky hook, the list goes on and on. He was such a unique player, such a great leader, and he always had a smile. Of course Magic Johnson is the starting point guard on this team. His passing, attitude, and versatility will contribute most to this team.

SG Michael Jeffrey Jordan 6'6" 215lbs.

Is this even necessary? Do I even have to write anything? 6 NBA Championships, 5 NBA MVP Awards, 14 All Star selections, 6 Finals MVP Awards, and 10 All NBA First Teams. Hes name has become one of the most marketable brands on Earth. Every Jordan shoe, shorts, shirt, accessory, etc is a testament to his legacy. His name has become a synonymous of greatness. His clutch moments in the Finals are legendary and will continue to fuel the dreams of players for the rest of time. He truly is the greatest player of all time. His leadership, drive, defense, scoring, and clutch will contribute most to this team. He will be the team captain.

SF Larry Joe Bird 6'9" 200lbs

Bird wasn't as athletic as the other guys on this team. He wasn't going to make a spectacular dunk; he wasn't a versicle freak of nature; he wasn't an intimidating dominator. He was solid and smart. Bird was known for being able to anticapate the opposing team's movements, and counter it with his own strategy. Bird won 3 NBA Championships, 3 NBA MVP Awards, 12 All Star selections, 2 Finals MVP Awards, and 9 All NBA First Teams. You can't watch a Pistons-Celtics game or think about the greatest NBA playoff moments without either hearing or think of the famous sound clip. "And......Now there's a steal by Bird! Underneath to DJ who lays it in!!...Right at one second left!! What a play by Bird!" I can't tel you how many times I've heard that clip. Bird was a great rebounder. He averaged 10 rebounds per game for his career. He has 59 career triple-doubles. He also had great shooting ability. Bird won the 3-point contest 3 straight years from 1986-1988. Birds basketball IQ, defense, rebounding, and shooting will contribute most to this team.

PF Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 7'2" 225lbs.

I had to put the NBA's all time leading scorer on this team. Kareem won 6 NBA Championships, 6 NBA MVP Awards, 19 All Star selections, 2 Finals MVP Awards, and 10 All NBA First Teams. His iconic sky hook made defenders wonder why they couldn't stop it. Kareem was not a thick player despite his height, so he used his amazing finesse. Kareem's athletic ability was unmatched. He was a dominate threat in the paint, on both offense and defense. He was athletic enough to run the fast break style of the Showtime Lakers and averaged 38.6 minutes a game for his career. Kareem's inside presence and athletic ability contribute most to this team.

C Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal 7'1" 325lbs.

Shaq, The Diesel, Shaq Fu, The Big Aristotle, The Big Daddy, Superman, The Big Agave, The Big Cactus, The Big Shaqtus, The Big Galactus, Wilt Chamberneezy, The Big Baryshnikov, The Real Deal, Dr. Shaq, Shaqovic. So many nicknames for one of the most dominant player of all time. Shaq won 4 NBA Championships, 1 NBA MVP Award, 15 All Star selections, 3 Finals MVP Awards, and 14 All NBA First Teams and he is still playing. Many people would choose Wilt Chamberlian, and of course. Wilt averaged a triple-double in his career, and had the most mind-blowing statistics in all of basketball, including his record 100 points in one game. I didn't choose Wilt for many reasons. One, hardly anyone has seen Wilt play. We don't really have any footage on him, and I can't say that he is the greatest, until I see something. Second, Wilt didn't play against other 7 footers. At the time, Wilt was the only 7 foot player in the league, so he had a huge advantage. Shaq has to play with so many 7 footers its amazing that there are so many. His physical frame gives him a power advantage over most opponents, and for a man of that size, he is quick and explosive. Shaq's offensive dominance is unmatched. His combination of strength and quickness has stunned defenders for the past two decades. His intimidation also carries over to the defensive side of the floor where he consistently scares players from driving the line. He also brings a fun attitude toward the game, and his pregame jokes and antics make him loved by his teammates, fans, and the media. Shq's powerful inside dominance and fun attitude with contribute most to this team.

Sixth Man

SF Julius Winfield Erving II 6'7" 210lbs.

Dr. J is coming off the bench on this team. He won 1 NBA Championship, 1 NBA MVP Award, 11 All Star selections, and 5 All NBA First Teams. He is considered one of the best dunkers of all time. His signature dunk was the "slam" dunk, since incorporated into the vernacular and basic skill set of the game, in the same manner as the "cross-over" dribble and the "no look" pass. Dr. J's energy and spectacular offensive play will help this team coming off the bench.
